What it costs
The first hour is $139 on a weekday and includes travel within 20 km of the CBD (Zone A), so there’s no separate call-out fee. After the first hour, it’s $23 for each 15 minutes. All prices include GST.
What changes the time is the wall and the size of the screen. A TV up to 65 inches on plasterboard with studs behind it, or on a timber wall, usually takes 60 to 75 minutes. A bigger TV, or any TV on brick or concrete, usually takes 90 to 120 minutes.
Adding a mirror, shelf or curtain rod to the same visit just adds its time. You don’t pay a second first hour.

TV mounting
Some work has to be done by a licensed tradesperson or a licensed or registered builder. We don’t do it, and we won’t pretend otherwise.

Wall types
The wall decides the fixings, the time and the price. Knock on it: a hollow sound usually means plasterboard, and a dull, solid sound usually means brick or concrete.
Most houses and many units. We fix the bracket into the timber or steel studs behind the plasterboard, never into the plasterboard alone. Studs are usually 450 or 600 mm apart, so we can normally get the TV where you want it, or close to it. Steel studs, common in apartment buildings, need different fixings, so tell us if you know your walls have them.

Solid timber, such as the VJ board walls in many older Queensland homes, holds screws well. For larger TVs we still fix into the frame behind the boards.

Double brick and rendered brick, common in older homes. We drill with masonry bits and use anchors rated for the load. It takes longer than plasterboard or timber.

Common in apartment buildings. It’s the slowest wall to drill, and there can be steel reinforcement or services inside, so we check before drilling.

Fibro and asbestos. Homes built or renovated before 1990 may contain asbestos, including in fibro wall sheeting. If your wall might be fibro, tell us before the job. We don’t drill walls that might contain asbestos unless a test shows they’re clear.
Renting, or in a strata building? Check with your landlord, agent or building manager before the job. You may need their consent to drill, so get it in writing.

Each of these usually fits inside the first hour on its own, so a single job is $139 on a weekday with travel in Zone A included. Book several together and we add up the time. All prices include GST.
Up to 6 pieces usually take 45 to 60 minutes. Heavy mirrors go into studs or masonry with fixings rated for the weight. If you’ve planned a gallery wall, we’ll hang it to your layout.
About 30 to 45 minutes a shelf. Hidden-bracket shelves need studs or masonry behind them. How much a shelf holds depends on the bracket and the wall, so check the maker’s load rating first.
About 30 to 45 minutes each. You supply the rods or blinds, and we fit and level the brackets. For corded blinds, we fit the cord safety device that should come with them, so cords can’t hang in loops a child can reach.

No. Moving or adding a power point has to be done by a licensed electrician, and we don’t run power leads inside walls. We can tidy the cables into a surface-mounted cover down to your existing power point, or mount the TV once an electrician has added one behind it.
Please have a bracket ready that’s rated for your TV’s weight and matches the VESA hole pattern on the back of the TV. Send us a photo of it with your quote request. If you’d rather we buy one, tell us your TV model and we’ll agree the bracket and its price with you first. It’s charged at cost, with the receipt.
We don’t hang a TV from plasterboard alone. If there’s no stud where you want it, we’ll show you the options before drilling, such as moving the TV slightly or using a bracket with a wider wall plate that reaches the studs.
