Prices and how we charge
Hourly rates by day, travel zones, minimum charges and typical job times for removals, handyman, painting and garden work in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
How we charge
A rate for each day, travel shown upfront, and your price in writing
All prices include GST. The same rates apply in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane. We don’t take bookings on Sundays or public holidays.
Totals, travel included
Every “from” price and every estimate already includes GST and the travel charge, so the number you see is one you can actually be charged.
A rate for each day
Monday to Friday and Saturday each have their own hourly rate, except garden jobs, which cost the same on both. The Saturday rate is the whole price for that day, not a percentage added on top.
Confirmed in writing first
The estimator gives you a range. Before the job, we confirm the crew, the rate, the travel charge and an estimated total by SMS, WhatsApp or email.

Removalist prices by the hour
Each rate covers the whole crew and the vehicle, not each person. The estimator suggests a crew for the size of your move, and you can change it.
All prices include GST. Each price is the full hourly rate for that day, not a surcharge.

A move is charged as hours × the rate for your day, plus one travel charge per job. The minimum total is the minimum time at that rate plus the Zone A travel charge of $89; in Zone B, add $50. A fridge, washing machine or double wardrobe needs at least 2 movers. For 4 bedrooms or more, we quote in writing.
Travel charge
Travel zones
Each city has two zones, measured from the city centre (CBD): to the pick-up address for a move, or to the job for handyman work. Your written quote confirms your zone.
All prices include GST. The travel charge is added once per job, not per hour.

“All other jobs” means assembly, mounting, handyman, painting, plaster, tile and garden jobs. The travel charge covers getting to you and back, including fuel and tolls within the zone. It’s already in every “from” price and every estimate. If a move between your two addresses uses toll roads, or we need paid parking, those costs aren’t in the online estimate; we include them, at cost, in your written quote.
Minimums and timing
Minimum charges and how time is counted
- Minimums: 2 hours for 2 or 3 movers, 1 hour for man with a van, and a full first hour for handyman, painting, plaster, tile and garden jobs. After that, time is counted in 15-minute blocks.
- When the clock runs: from when we arrive at your first address until the job is finished. For a move, the drive between your two addresses counts; getting to you is covered by the travel charge.
- Late finishes: for removals and man with a van, any time after 6:30pm on a weekday is charged at the Saturday rate. The estimator works this out from the start time you choose, using the earliest start in that window for the low end of the range and the latest for the high end, and your written quote will say if your job is likely to run late.
- Stairs, lifts and long carries: no extra fees. They take longer, so they show up in the time.
- Several small jobs: jobs done in the same visit share one first hour, even when they’re different kinds of work.

Handyman, painting and garden prices
One person, charged by time: a first hour, then 15-minute blocks. The first hour includes travel in Zone A, so there’s no separate call-out fee. In Zone B we add $40 per visit.
All prices include GST. Each price is the full rate for that day, not a surcharge.

A visit with more than one kind of job has one first hour, at the rate of the first row in this table that has a job in your visit. After that, each job’s time is charged at its own row’s 15-minute rate. Materials aren’t included unless you ask us to buy them. We agree them with you first and charge them at cost, with the receipt.
Typical times for common jobs
A job that fits inside 60 minutes costs the first-hour price. Longer jobs add 15-minute blocks: for example, 90 minutes of handyman work on a weekday is $139 plus 2 blocks of $23, $185 in total. The estimator adds it up for you, including several jobs in one visit.

TV times assume you have the bracket, with cables in a surface-mounted cover. We don’t move or add power points; that needs a licensed electrician.

Fees we never charge, and what can be added
We never charge
- Card surcharges
- Fuel levies
- Stairs fees or long-carry fees
Card fees are part of our rates, and fuel is covered by the travel charge. Stairs and long carries take longer, so they show up in the time instead.
Extras, and costs at cost
- Packing: only if you ask. We pack for you at the same hourly rate as your move.
- Materials: paint, tiles, parts and other materials only when you ask us to buy them, at cost with the receipt.
- Green waste drop-off fees: for garden jobs, the drop-off fee at cost, with the receipt. We estimate it in your written quote.
- Tolls and parking: tolls between your two addresses and paid parking, at cost, in your written quote.
Online estimates don’t include these. After you accept your written quote, nothing is added to it unless you agree in writing.
Paying and cancelling
Payment, deposits and cancellations
A short summary. Our terms of service have the full details, and nothing here limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
- Paying
- Pay when the job is finished, by bank transfer or card. There’s no card surcharge.
- Deposit
- None. We don’t take a deposit for any job.
- Cancelling a move
- More than 48 hours before the start time: free. 24 to 48 hours before: the travel charge for your zone. Less than 24 hours before, or once we’re on the way: the travel charge plus 1 hour at your booked rate for 2 or 3 movers, or just the travel charge for man with a van. If we fill the time you booked, we reduce or waive the fee.
- Cancelling any other job
- Assembly, mounting, handyman, painting, plaster, tile and garden jobs. More than 24 hours before the start time: free. Less than 24 hours before, or once we’re on the way: a late cancellation fee of $89, or $55 for a visit that was only garden work, and only if we can’t fill the time.
- Changing the date
- Free with the same notice as above. With less notice, ask us first: any fee is never more than the cancellation fee for that notice.
- If we have to cancel
- You pay nothing, and we offer you the next available time.

The online estimate is a guide. Your price is set when we confirm it in writing and you accept it.

We reply in writing
By SMS, WhatsApp or email: the crew, the rate for your day, the minimum, the travel charge, the estimated time and total, and any extras you asked for.

You confirm
Reply to accept and we book your date. After the minimum, you pay for the time actually worked, in 15-minute blocks, at the rate we confirmed.

If the job changes
If things on the day don’t match what we agreed, we stop, show you what’s different and give you a new price in writing before carrying on.
Questions about prices and payment
What is the travel charge?
It’s a fixed charge added once to each removals or man with a van job, covering fuel and tolls within the zone: $89 in Zone A (within 20 km of the CBD) or $139 in Zone B (20 to 40 km). Further out, we quote in writing. For handyman jobs, Zone A travel is in the first hour and Zone B adds $40 a visit.
What’s the least I’ll pay?
On a weekday in Zone A: $208 for man with a van (1-hour minimum plus travel), $427 for 2 movers and a truck and $559 for 3 movers (2-hour minimum plus travel), $139 for a handyman, assembly or mounting job of up to an hour, $139 for a painting, plaster or tile job of up to an hour, and $109 for a garden job of up to an hour. On Saturdays the minimums are $218, $467 and $619 for moves, $159 for handyman jobs, $159 for painting, plaster and tile jobs, and still $109 for garden jobs. After the minimum, time is charged in 15-minute blocks.
Do you charge card surcharges, fuel levies or stairs fees?
No. Stairs and long carries only show up as the time they take, and fuel is covered by the travel charge. When comparing quotes, compare whole-job totals.
When do I pay, and is there a deposit?
You pay when the job is finished, by bank transfer or card, with no card surcharge. There’s no deposit for any job.
What happens if I need to cancel a move?
More than 48 hours before the start time, it costs nothing. Between 24 and 48 hours before, you pay the travel charge. Within 24 hours, or once the crew is on the way, you pay the travel charge plus one hour at your booked rate, or just the travel charge for man with a van. If we fill the time you booked, we reduce or waive the fee. If we have to cancel, you pay nothing. The details are in our terms.
