We move apartments in the CBD, Southbank and Docklands, Victorian terraces in the inner north and south, and family homes in the suburbs. For a home you get two or three movers and a truck; for a few items, one mover and a van. You pay by the hour at the rate for that day, plus one fixed travel charge, and we confirm your price in writing before moving day.
Melbourne moves have their own hold-ups: tram lines and clearways where a truck can’t stop, narrow terrace hallways and staircases, and apartment towers where the lift has to be booked through the owners corporation. We ask about each of these when we quote, so the day runs to plan.

Removalist rates in Melbourne
A rate for each day, one travel charge per move, and no stairs fee, fuel levy or card surcharge.
All prices include GST. Each rate is the full hourly rate for that day, not a surcharge. The minimum total is the minimum time plus the Zone A travel charge of $89; in Zone B, add $50.

Minimum 1 hour for 1 mover, or 2 hours for 2 or 3 movers, then 15-minute blocks. The clock runs from arrival at your pick-up address until the last item is in, including the drive between addresses. On weekdays, time after 6:30pm is at the Saturday rate.

Apartments and owners corporations
Moving in or out of a Melbourne apartment
In Victoria, an apartment building’s shared areas are run by its owners corporation, and its rules can cover how and when furniture moves through the lobby, lifts and car park. Ask the building manager or owners corporation manager at both ends what applies, then pass it on to us.
- Lift booking. Many towers need the goods lift booked for a set window, sometimes with padding fitted first.
- Car park or loading bay. Ask about height clearance, as basement car parks are often too low for a truck. Tell us the clearance and we’ll check our vehicle fits.
- Bond or paperwork. Some buildings ask for a move booking form, a bond or paperwork from the removalist. Ask early and tell us what they need, and we’ll tell you before you book whether we can provide it.
- Street access. In the CBD and along tram routes a truck often can’t wait at the kerb, so tell us where the building says we can load.
Floor levels and the walk from the truck to the lift change the time, so they go into your quote.
Local notes
Terraces, trams and toll roads
- Terraces and period homes. Narrow hallways and tight stairs can mean taking apart beds, wardrobes and tables that would go straight through elsewhere. Measure big pieces, or send photos, and we’ll allow the time.
- Tram routes and clearways. We plan where the truck will stop before the day. If the only spot is a loading zone or a street with parking limits, check the signs and let us know.
- Toll roads. The drive between your addresses may use CityLink or EastLink. If it does, or if we need paid parking, we include those costs in your written quote.
- Building work limits. In Victoria, building work that combines trades and costs more than $10,000 (labour, materials and GST included), or that needs a building permit at any value, needs a registered builder. Our handyman jobs stay well under that limit, and we don’t take work that needs a building permit. See the jobs we don’t take.

With us, 2 movers and a truck are $169 an hour on weekdays and $189 on Saturdays, with a 2-hour minimum, plus a travel charge of $89 in Zone A or $139 in Zone B. The lowest total with 2 movers is $427 on a weekday in Zone A. All prices include GST.
Which parts of Melbourne do you cover?

My building has an owners corporation. What do I need to book?
Usually the goods lift and a time for the loading bay or car park, at both buildings. Ask the building manager what they need from you and from us, and send us the booked times so we can plan the start.
